FROM THE WEST END TO ELIZABETH LODGE 2019
In December 2019, Songhaven favourite Ceili O’Connor helped us to bring a touch of the West End into Care UK’s Elizabeth Lodge Care Home in Enfield. Residents were treated to a concert filled with classic musical theatre tunes as well as many seasonal favourites by over 20 cast members from Mary Poppins in a truly special festive event. BBC MUSIC DAY 2019
On Thursday 26 September, Songhaven celebrated BBC Music Day by sending professional artists to deliver Care Concert visits at Care UK homes in North London. Lucy Knight and Caroline Kennedy (pictured right) shared the joy of song with their solo daytime visits, and Jenny Stafford, Alistair Ollerenshaw, and Laura Wolk-Lewanowicz (pictured below) delivered a special evening Gala concert at Care UK’s Elizabeth Lodge in Enfield. Thanks to all of them for their beautiful music-making!
NATIONAL CARE HOME OPEN DAY 2019
GARSINGTON OPERA & CHILTERN GRANGE CARE HOME – GALA CONCERT
On 28 June 2019, Songhaven celebrated National Care Home Open Day by staging an evening Gala Concert entitled ‘A Night at the Opera’ in collaboration with Garsington Opera at Chiltern Grange Care Home in Buckinghamshire. This was a spectacular and joy-filled concert brimming with operatic favourites as well as popular classics. Residents and their visitors sang along with professional opera singers Ailsa Mainwaring and Robert Gildon, accompanied at the piano by Rebecca Cohen. Audience members also enjoyed waving their souvenir fans and handkerchiefs along to the music during this balmy Summer evening. See Press Coverage here
CARE UK – CARE CONCERT VISITS
Songhaven also celebrated National Care Home Open Day by sending FIVE of our professional artists (Caroline Kennedy, Robert Gildon, Ciara O’Connor, Ian Beadle and Ailsa Mainwaring – pictured below) to various Care UK care homes in North London for Songhaven Care Concert visits.
